Hey Mark,
I have played (and do play) Huang Star Performers and Golden Melodies when I
come across them for free, but I still prefer the feel of the SP20s. They're
just "right" for me. I got used to the thickness of the other harps but just
can't swing over to them as my first choice.
I didn't notice a loss of bass frequency from the Turbolid. I also thought
they projected well. I think those players who like the Haung SPs and GMs
would like the Turbos, they just weren't for me.
Groovy colors though!

Hello David,
The thick cover plates are an aquired taste. You definately will not like
the feel of the fat lower end initially. With time, you will adapt if you
stay with it. John K. mentioned a loss of bass respones. I've experienced
the exact opposite. The tonal palate, from low to high, is expanded
relative to a stock harp from what I've experienced. Like Dennis mentioned,
record the same Sp 20,
stock, then lidded. Compare the two recordings, and you will hear a
difference.
